Co-Founder and COO Gita Bhargava Wins Women of Influence Award

[SAN JOSE, CA] — Co-Founder and COO Gita Bhargava has been recognized as one of 2018’s most successful female leaders in the Silicon Valley Business Journal’s Women of Influence Awards. In her role as Chief Operating Officer, Gita runs worldwide operations and customer service for the four companies that make up the Global Upside Corporation – the world’s leading provider of HR, Payroll, Accounting, Finance, Compliance and Talent Acquisition services: Global Upside, Global PEO Services, Mihi and Gava Talent Solutions.

The Women of Influence Awards spotlights the 100 most successful and influential female leaders of the Silicon Valley. The honorees exercise power and influence within their industry and throughout the Silicon Valley community, while serving as role models for future generations of leaders. Among Silicon Valley’s best, Gita will be honored at the Silicon Valley Business Journal’s Women of Influence Awards ceremony on May 31st.

A mere 11% of Fortune 500 Chief Finance Officers are women. Finance and accounting are industries still dominated by men; Gita is one of the few female entrepreneurs and leaders found in these fields. An entrepreneur since age 16 in her Indian hometown, Gita continues to be a trailblazer in business, co-founding 4 companies in her lifetime.

Since establishing Global Upside in 1999, Gita has been dedicated to solving challenges, creating a welcoming and supportive workplace, and giving back to her community. She is also a passionate advocate for youth education and supports the Silicon Valley/San Jose chapter of City Year, a nationwide non-profit which helps at risk children across America stay in school. Gita is also a winner of the prestigious Le Fonti Awards in Milan, Italy and Stevie Awards in New York City, USA.
